MohonkPreserve.org
The cliffs we climb on are owned by an organization called the Mohonk
Preserve. They act as the stewards and caretakers of the largest
not-for-profit land preserve in New York State. Climbing is only one
small area of interest for the Preserve. They run environmental
education programs for school groups and offer a wide variety of
programs available to the public.

The Professional Climbing Guides Institute (PCGI) is the only
organization in the USA providing training and assessments standards
designed solely for rock climbing guides. PCGI certification standards
have been accepted by several units of the National Park Service as a
requirement for rock climbing guides offering professional services in
these public lands. PCGI offers the highest education and assessment
standards available for a rock climbing guiding. Please visit the PCGI

AMGA.com
Referred to repeatedly throughout our site, the AMGA is the
organization whose mission is the education, training and certification
of guides and climbing schools. The uncompromising, rigorous and
stringent standards set by the AMGA has vastly improved and enhanced
the quality and professionalism of American guiding. These standards
have been recognized and approved by the International Federation of
Mountain Guide Associations. This international guide certifying body
accepted the AMGA into its membership in 1999. Please check out the
